Appeal for photographs of bell restoration work

Do you have good photographs of bell restoration work?  If so, I would be delighted to receive copies that you would be happy for us to publish (with acknowledgments).

The Guild puts a lot of time and money into restoration projects, but we haven’t been very good at keeping records of the work.  This is apparent when creating some publicity for the Bridget Gordon Legacy.

Photos that show people and bells together would be great. But restoration projects aren’t just about the bells.  Some have been about repairing towers or improving access, and there have been some fascinating fund-raising activities too. And it would be good to have stories about people’s experience of fund-raising and restoration work.

The improved web site gives us much more opportunity to record this aspect of ringing.  I will start by putting up some of my own stuff, but look forward to your contributions so it’s not all one-sided!

I’m also keen to restore the audio recordings of bells that are currently missing from the web-site. If you have your own recordings, please let me know.

Many thanks

Roger Tompsett
