Traditionally ringers do not practise during Holy Week, and there are instead three opportunities for training:
1. Listening Skills, at the Cathedral Education Centre (GU2 7UP) on 21st March at 7.30 pm. This is a chance to try out the Central Council’s CD of ringing ‘soundbites’ and try and spot the errors; also to learn how to run listening training sessions in your own tower. A limited supply of CDs will be available to buy at reduced cost. Training run by Margaret Bale, 2 spaces still available.
2. Belfry Maintenance, at Ockham Church (GU23 6NL) on 22nd March at 7.30 pm. Training run by Richard Trueman. This course is fully booked, but please put your name on the waiting list for future courses.
3. Recruitment Workshop, at St John’s Centre, Merrow (GU7 4AA) on 23rd March at 7.30 pm. Ideas and tips on recruiting new learners, running an Open Day and much more. Course run by Mike Bale, Guild Training Officer. Spaces available.
