Leatherhead District Ventures North

Leatherhead District Outing 2022

On Saturday 1st October, about twenty members of the Leatherhead District ventured north of the river on their ‘annual’ outing – postponed for two years due to the pandemic!  We warmed up on the 19 cwt eight at Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, before crossing back to the nice ten on the river at Cookham.  Then on to lunch at the Old Five Bells at Burnham, and across the road to St Peter’s where it turned out that there were eight (presumably newer!) bells.

Continuing along the river we came to the heavy eight at Bray, which we enjoyed, managing to get a nice group photo in the autumn sunshine, before traipsing back along the M4 to the handy ten at Egham. Afterwards, we enjoyed some refreshment in The Crown at Egham before wending our  way back along the M25 to home.  An excellent day, ably organised by Bob Ewen,  to whom we offer our grateful thanks.  We also give thanks to Jenny Heyworth for supervising the ringing, and to all the members who made this a very enjoyable day out.
