It is with great sadness that we report the untimely death of Margaret Bale on 18th February, after a short illness. Our deepest condolences go to her husband Mike, daughter Jacqueline, son Richard and their respective families.

Margaret was a former Guild Secretary, Ashtead tower secretary, and a stalwart member and secretary of the Epsom band for over 30 years.  She learned to ring at Ashtead, transferring to Epsom when she married Mike.  She was well-known throughout the Guild as a kind and patient trainer both of basic handling and of methods.  A talented organiser, she revived the Guild Dinners and also revived the ringing at several towers in the District, working with Mike.

Her ability to motivate people was legendary and we miss her already.
