Eight bands, two from each District, entered the Guild 6-bell striking contest which was held at Ottershaw on 11th March and judged by Jack Regin of Binsted (who learnt to ring at Ottershaw) and Roger Barber of Hawkley.

The results were as follows:
1st  Shalford 90%
2nd Old Woking 89%
3rd Godalming 83%
4th Leatherhead 81%
5th Crondall 76%
6th Farnborough 75%
7th Epsom St Martins 74%
8th Ockham 54%

Congratulations to all bands taking part, and particularly to Shalford – a new name on the Shield!
