Congratulations to the Ashtead Sunday Evening Service band (see photo) who rang a special date touch of 113 changes of Stedman Triples to celebrate the Ringing World’s 113th Birthday on 24th March.
Their photo of beaming ringers under a blossoming tree caught the editor’s imagination and they are to be awarded the top prize. Oddly, I notice that their page (in the current issue of the Ringing World) is dated 5th January 2024, so I hope they haven’t been April fooled!
Special mention must be made of Alan Brown for coming up with the idea, devising the touch and calling it too.
