After a short warm-up session, I’d like to start with some exercises on five/six bells.
I suggest we try Bastow Little Bob Doubles and Cloister Doubles for those who’d like practice in hunting.
We can follow this with some plain courses and touches of Grandsire and Plain Bob. This will be an opportunity for aspiring conductors to try their hand at calling. We will have some easy-to-call touches on hand to try.
This will engage us for the first hour and then we will move up a notch. Some Stedman Doubles – plain courses and touches (we have some good ones for learning to call) and on to Surprise. Plain courses of Cambridge S. Minor and some short touches of this. And I thought we should come prepared to ring Beverley Surprise Minor. This method is similar to Cambridge, but with changes to the front work which will need a bit of preparation beforehand. It’s in the Ringer’s Diary and easily found online.
But we’ll also return to some of the simpler stuff for those who weren’t able to arrive sooner and also to maintain interest before we adjourn to a hostelry for lunch. So please have a look at these methods before you arrive and do come with any other requests. If you have any queries, don’t hesitate to ask.
