2026 Guild AGM

The Guild held it’s AGM and 6-bell striking competition on Saturday 14th March 2026 at Christ Church, Epsom. In a change to the format, the competition was held over lunchtime, with a ploughman’s lunch being served to those taking part. After a short break, the results were given, and the AGM was then held in the church.

The Guild AGM followed, where a moments silence was held for those members lost last year. The master gave a report on activities during 2025, and the treasurer gave the annual financial results, noting that the Bell Restoration Fund has plenty of scope for grants. The current officers were re-elected. A motion was put to the meeting which changed the way the central council representatives are elected, from every three years to every year.

Under any other business, Bill Hibbert, the new bells advisor to the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches and Churchyards introduced himself and Sue Loveday thanked everybody for their support following the death of her husband Malcolm Loveday.

After the meeting, ringing continued at St Giles, Ashtead where 20 ringers enjoyed these excellent bells.
