The Leatherhead District outing took place on Saturday 6th June. We stayed a little closer to home this year, visiting four churches in the neighbouring Guildford District. For many attendees, it was their first opportunity to ring at some of these towers.
Our first – and furthest – stop was at Chiddingfold where it proved to be quite a tight squeeze to fit a group of 25 in to the ringing room! We then made our way to ring at Witley followed by lunch at The Grantley Arms, which was only a short walk from our next tower, Wonersh. By the time we had finished ringing at Bramley, the day’s heavy rain showers had given way to sunshine, making for a pleasant conclusion to the outing.
We were able to ring a range of methods from Plain Hunt through to Erin and Yorkshire Surprise Major, ensuring something for everyone. Thanks to all who participated in the outing and to the visiting ringers who helped to make the day such a success.
